On 11th March 2008, Tuesday. It was the last visit to the NPCC campsite for many of our Secondary 4 cadets. A total of 15 Secondary 4s NCOs, together with myself met in school at 7.30am. Everyone of us was very tired and sleepy as we have just completed our Sec 1 selection and Sec 3s NCOs camp from 8 - 10 March. Most of us have less than 4 hours of sleep during the camp. We forgot quite a number things that need to be brought over to Pulau Ubin for the High Rope Challenge (HRC). Important items such as the camera and Bum Boat form!!!
When we reach Pulau Ubin, everyone was excited as we rented 12 single and 2 double bicycles to cycle to the NPCC campsite together with Hougang Sec NCOs. I have a feeling that we were like tourist rather than going for training. Due to the wet weather, many of our sec 4s NCOs were unable to try the 7th storey high flying fox and the high elements at the NPCC campsite. They were rather disappointed and wanted very much to come back to Pulau Ubin to try those exciting and challenging elements. We left the campsite at around 3.30pm and have a great meals together at the Changi Village food centre (Nasi Ayam??) before we proceed back to school whereby we were delayed due to the most serious car accidents (reported in the news). We reached school at about 6.15pm. I believed that this was one of the most memorable experience for our NCOs. Cheers!
